Spooky Stacks

Makes: About 16-18 5-inch pancakes

Ingredients:

3 1/2 C. Cracker Barrel Buttermilk Pancake Mix

2 1/2 C. Cool Water

Margarine, Butter, or Vegetable Oil for cooking pancakes

M&M’s Candies

Whipped Topping or Whipped Cream

Cracker Barrel Pure Natural Pancake Syrup

Directions:

  1. Heat a well-seasoned Cast Iron Skillet, Griddle, or any non-stick Skillet over medium-high heat. Smear a little oil on surface.
  2. Whisk together the pancake mix and water. Spoon pancake mix into hot skillet and sprinkle with M&M’s. Flip pancake to cook both sides until light, golden brown. Place pancakes on a sheet tray in a warm oven as you cook.
  3. Put whipped topping in a pastry or storage bag, with the corner cut off, and set aside a few of the black M&M’s.
  4. Add a stack of pancakes to each plate. Top with a whipped topping “ghost”, and, using the black M&M’s, make the eyes and mouth. Serve with syrup for a boo-tiful Halloween treat!

Monster Mash Pancakes

Makes: 15-17 5-inch pancakes

Ingredients:

3 1/2 C. Cracker Barrel Buttermilk Pancake Mix

2 1/2 C. Cool Water

Orange (or combination of red and yellow) Food Coloring

Margarine, Butter, or Vegetable Oil for cooking pancakes

Whipped Topping

M&M’s Candies

Cracker Barrel Pure Natural Pancake Syrup

Directions:

  1. Heat a well-seasoned Cast Iron Skillet, Griddle, or any non-stick Skillet over medium-high heat. Smear a little oil on surface.
  2. Whisk together the pancake mix and water to make a batter. Add drops of orange food color to batter, stirring as you add to the mix.
  3. Spoon pancake mix onto hot skillet and cook, flipping half-way, until done. (You want these pancakes to not get too dark so they are orange.) Place on a sheet tray in a warm oven as you wait on the other pancakes to cook.
  4. To Serve: Stack pancakes on plates with a smear of whipped topping. Let the kids sprinkle more candies over the top. Serve with syrup for a s-mashing successful meal!
