Cracker Barrel Partners with Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee to Care for Military Families

We love our military families, and we are incredibly grateful for everything they do for us!

For years, Cracker Barrel, along with the USO, has supported our military families through a number of exciting outreaches, and this recent event continues that tradition of caring and service.

For the first time, we were able to partner with the Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee to provide food (and some yummy cookies) to members of the Tennessee Air National Guard.

In March, 850 Air National Guard personnel who were on-site for training were treated to Cracker Barrel Fried Chicken Tender Biscuits and boxes of Girl Scout Cookies as they checked into their base.

Later that afternoon, at the Cracker Barrel near Harding Place in Nashville, a small group of Cracker Barrel employees and Girls Scouts greeted 30 military families chosen by the USO. These families were given Cracker Barrel Family Meal Baskets, consisting of Sunday Homestyle Chicken, Macaroni and Cheese, and Green Beans, along with boxes of Girl Scout Cookies and other goodies like books and toys.

More than 1000 individually wrapped Fried Chicken Tender Biscuits, 350 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies and 30 Family Meal Baskets were distributed. (That’s a lot of chicken and cookies, and it was so much fun!)

“We’re known as a home away from home for our guests, and our support of military families is an extension of our commitment to caring for all families,” explains Jack Kinle, General Manager of Cracker Barrel near Harding Place.

“We’re grateful for the service and sacrifice of military personnel and their families, and this is just one small way of showing our appreciation.”

The response from the military personnel and their families, like April Dickey and Courtney Battles was extremely heartfelt and appreciative.

“I was just expecting a meal, and you had a whole table of goodies for us. How great is that!” said April. “My family loves Cracker Barrel. I can’t believe the support we get from you all, and who doesn’t like Girl Scout Cookies!”

“This is unbelievable,” said Courtney as she picked up her meal and goodies. “All of this for us? It is very impactful to know we are supported at so many levels. Thank you so much for all you do for the military!”

We want to give a special thanks to our friends at the USO for their partnership and to the Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee for helping to make this event a success.
