Take a moment and think back to when you were 7 years old…
“What did you want to be when you grew up?”
Most kids will tell you an astronaut, an athlete, a teacher, or even a rock star.
But not Jack!
This charming 2nd grader wants to combine his passion for cooking with his love for Cracker Barrel.
In school, Jack’s teacher asked the class to write an essay on what they wanted to be when they grew up, and Jack wrote to be a chef at Cracker Barrel. Why?
Because according to Jack, “I would get paid a lot and could eat dumplins’ anytime!”
He’s a kid after our own homestyle heart!
So, we set up a time for Jack and his family to visit their local Cracker Barrel in Henderson, KY, so he could learn how we prepare our made-from-scratch dumplins!
We had a special table for him, complete with a care package that included his own Cracker Barrel apron with his name on it. Plus, Dumplin’ Mix and other goodies for him to practice his budding chef skills at home. He was like a kid opening presents on Christmas morning, and the staff was just as excited to have him there.
He even impressed our backup chef with his dumplin’ making skills! Way to go, Jack!
Check out the video of his big day!
Is this a future Cracker Barrel chef-in-the-making? We think so, and we can’t wait to one day welcome him into our Cracker Barrel family!
