Starting the week of 9/14, we will continue to expand our test offering of “ImpossibleTM Sausage Made From Plants” as a breakfast side at nearly 50 of our stores. For our guests looking for a delicious plant-based option, or those who just want to try something new, this is sure to be a winner.
You might be asking, just what is “Impossible Sausage”? It’s savory, delicious sausage made from plants for meat lovers. It provides a good source of nutrients with 6g protein per patty, and has 45% fewer calories, 60% less total fat, and 2.5g saturated fat per serving when compared to the leading animal pork sausage.1 It contains no gluten, no animal hormones, and no antibiotics.
Plant-based meat is becoming more popular and is a great alternative for people trying to reduce their meat consumption.
If you want to learn more about Impossible Sausage and other plant-based foods, you can visit ImpossibleFoods.com. Be sure to check out their store locator map so you can find the Cracker Barrel nearest you that’s serving this item.
This is just one more way for us to show you how much we care by giving you the food you deserve with the quality and taste you’ve come to expect from your Cracker Barrel family.
We hope you enjoy it. Tell us what you think in the comments!
1The leading foodservice pork sausage contains 190 calories, 18g total fat, and 25mg cholesterol while Impossible Sausage contains 100 calories, 7g total fat, and 0 mg cholesterol per serving.
I’ve been vegan for over 8 years and Cracker Barrel is one of the places I miss most. I think this is a great move and hope there are more to come soon!
Nice article!
I like Cracker Barrel too, but I will never eat their plant based foods (again). I ordered the usual sausage patty and couldn’t figure out why one day it tasted like crap. I took 2 bites and had to pitch it. Now I know. I saw later on the menu it was “plant based”. If McDonalds and other restaurants continue on the path to vegan, plant, bug foods, I will never eat there again (nor my family and relatives) and will go to restaurants that serve REAL foods, real chicken, real beef, real pork. I have no problem with those of you who want to eat fake things, I’m not one of them and prefer to have my choice on the menu as well.
You don’t get the fake meat unless you ask/order it.
I tried it first at Burger King on their croissant and it’s better than the regular. Probably because they always make them fresh.
Impossible meats got the spice down correctly. Love it!
Turkey sausage excellent too at Cracker Barrel
This is fantastic news! I used to love Cracker Barrel before I went vegan.
So happy to hear this as a plant-based customer, can’t wait to try it!
I can’t wait to try this!! Thank you for adding plant based options
Please serve this in all your stores! It’s really delicious and goos for you!
Just had the impossible sausage for breakfast. It was excellent. We RV travel a lot and rely on Cracker Barrel almost every day for at least one meal. Thank you for being inclusive. Last night we ate in Douglasville and met my kids. One is a vegan so there was it much for her. If you offered green beans or navy beans cooked without fat back that would be so nice for her. I would eat too since as an older woman I do not need those extra calories from the fat added to veggies. Thanks for listening!!!
You guys couldn’t find a worse picture for this announcement? How about showing the sausages over eggs with some potatoes, etc.? Not solo in a white paper? plate. It makes them look dry and unappetizing
(Disclosure; I’m an omnivore who welcome this news but disappointed in the image. That’s all)
No thank you to plant based sausage. Very unhealthy sodium amounts. Turkey sausage or pork is better.
Thanks. I’ve been good with a vegetarian diet and happy there is an alternative to meat on the menu. Thank You.
It’s a clear sign of the apocalypse and the end of time…
Thanks so much for adding this. My husband and I travel as truck drivers, and it’s so hard to eat health over the road because the places a truck driver can get to are usually full of bad unhealthy foods. I really appreciate you adding this to your menu!! I can add this to my 2 egg breakfast sandwich that i always order, and by the way, thanks for bringing back that 1 in its original form. I did not like when you switched it to a different bread etc. — glad that didn’t last. 😉
Excellent! I wish more restaurants would welcome “everyone” to their tables. Slowly they are catching on.
Sorry y’all not too fond of this plant sausage, I’d much rather have the original. But you still have wonderful gravy and biscuits!
